Andrew Joseph: What was your first job?
Lindye Galloway: This is always a full-circle moment! I worked at an interior design showroom in my town when I was in high school. It was high-end design but I was mostly tasked with unpacking the lamps in the back room and organizing receipts. All to say, I’ve come a long way!

AJ: Favorite app?
LG: Well, my screen time would say Instagram. I love seeing what artists, creatives and designers are up to and I’m never mad if a cat video pops up too. Although, lately my team is really trying to get me to expand to regular time on TikTok so they’re showing me the ropes of the Gen Z life.

AJ: Has there been a shift in what clients are requesting post-covid?
LG: So many things shifted as people were home more and I think everyone wanted a sense of calm. I had 2 kids at home during lockdown, so I know I was the first in line for a sense of calm and a bubble bath! In homes, we have seen a request for things like serene spaces, calm colors and warm tones that give a cozy home feel.

AJ: If you weren’t a designer, you’d be a ….?
LG: I would be Kelly Ripa, without a doubt! I guess I should say a morning talk show host, but specifically Kelly Ripa’s job. I mean, starting the day with a cup of coffee, celebrity chit chats, and fun games… sign me up!

AJ: What’s a guilty pleasure you have?
LG: All the shows on Bravo. Give me some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and a bowl of Frosted Flakes and my evening is set!
